André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra are world-renowned for their energetic and uplifting performances and their show at the Manchester Arena on Friday 14 December 2012 was no exception. The concert was a sell-out, with over 20,000 people in attendance and the atmosphere was electric from the moment the curtain opened.
Rieu and his orchestra kicked off the show with a medley of classic waltzes, including “The Blue Danube” and “The Skater’s Waltz.” The audience was immediately captivated by Rieu’s charisma and the orchestra’s virtuosity and they erupted into applause at the end of each piece.
In addition to waltzes, Rieu also performed a variety of other musical genres including classical, pop and folk. He even invited a few lucky audience members on stage to sing along with him.
