
11 Pipe Bands Unite to Play ‘Scotland the Brave’ in Moray
Led by Drum Major Nick Stables from Dufftown & District Pipe Band, 11 pipe bands marched as one massed group playing ‘Scotland the Brave’ back through Dufftown to finish at the famous Clock Tower after the 2019 Dufftown Highland Games in Moray, Scotland.
The other 10 participating bands included Arberlour Community & District Pipe Band, Ballater & District Pipe Band, Buckie & District Pipe Band, Ellon & District RBL Pipe band, Forres & District Pipe Band, Huntly & District Pipe Band, Kintore Pipe Band, Lonach Pipe Band, Strathisla Pipe Band and Towie & District Pipe Band. The march proved to be a stirring and memorable sight for the people of Dufftown.
The Massed Bands’ rendition of ‘Scotland the Brave’ filled the air with a sense of patriotism, pride and camaraderie as they marched through town, ending with a rousing finale at the Clock Tower. Spectators lined the streets to show their support and appreciation for the Pipe Bands as they proudly marched through Dufftown. It was a fitting tribute to all of those who participated in the 2019 Highland Games.
The March of the Massed Bands after the 2019 Dufftown Highland Games in Moray, Scotland will be remembered for years to come by all who witnessed it. The powerful, stirring music and the sight of 11 Pipe Bands marching in unison will remain in their minds forever.
